First there was Resbook, then Planit - now it's Project Saturn, what's it all about?
Paul and I attended a meeting between the joint-unions and BBC managers today to learn more about the BBC's new workplace scheduling package, which will bring rotas, sickness and leave records under one system. There are some admirable aims, such as flagging up when staff are being asked to work back-to-back shifts, but more details are needed.
There's also some cynicism when it comes to expensive new systems introduced at the BBC. They've been known to be replaced before rollout has finished.
Rumour has it the next project they're looking at is Uranus, watch this space.
