Joint union reps have today sent a strong message of defiance to the BBC.
At a packed meeting reps from across all divisions voted unanimously to begin a process of balloting for industrial action. They refuse to be party to an attack on the quality and future direction of the BBC. The joint unions have been left with little choice but to begin balloting because the BBC is refusing to negotiate in a proper way. Unions are writing to the BBC, calling for meaningful dialogue. If the BBC fails to respond our message is clear. We will not accept a reduction in quality of the BBC's output, or attacks on members' terms and conditions. For more information see the NUJ's website here.
