The BBC plans to shed thousands of jobs. But assessing whether those who remain will be able to deliver the BBC's vision of the new world, without breaching Health and Safety legislation, appears to causing a few problems.
Officials and reps at yesterday's English Regions meeting were astonished to hear that despite the division losing hundreds of posts, the changes will bring about no negative impact on Health and Safety, none whatsoever, not a bit!
Congratulations to the one region honest enough place all their ticks in the neutral colomn and admit they weren't yet sure what the impact would be.
But a big "ticking off" for those who participated in this "tick box" exercise without involvement from the staff. Our reps are only to happy to help them with their next effort.
We're meeting with BBC Scotland today to hear more on their plans for dealing with this latest painful round of cuts. We'll be making sure the BBC has fully considered the negative impact on Health and Safety, and quality, that these cuts will bring.
