Members of all the unions affected by ITV's announcement of its planned cutbacks to regional and local news met together today in Birmingham. Attention focused on how to fight the proposals, with tales of activity in different parts of the country already in evidence. Afterwards it was straight to ITV's Central offices to meet members of the NUJ chapel there. ITV's plans affect both its Nottingham and Birmingham sites so Central viewers will no doubt be kicking up a fuss.
