Interesting to see the media boycott of the Rugby World cup, resolved just before kick-off tonight. The row over pictures and video says something about the battle for control of images in the online world. It also reminds us of the power of collective action by media workers or organisations. However, don't expect to see headlines slamming their actions for being irresponsible and damaging to the public. Industrial action should always be the last resort in any dispute. However, if necessary, as we can see, it can be a powerful incentive to encourage dialogue and a fairer outcome.
