Learning to say No

An auspicious day at NUJ headquarters. BBC reps met without immediately having to issue a threat of strike action (though I suspect that day may not be too far away). Reps gathered for a training day to talk about their experiences representing members as well as to learn a few 'tricks of the trade'. We had a great turnout, which shows reps really care what happens in the BBC. They want the knowledge and the confidence to put up a fight when terms and conditions are attacked. As one speaker pointed out, sometimes 'no' is the magic word.
