A bunch of us met with Pat Loughry BBC Nations and Regions today. This is us having lunch beforehand. He outlined some of his thinking over local television - now not called that now, of course - in fear of powerful commercial lobby and in keeping with the new BBC 'lite' - the full proposal has been cut back. We fully support the initiative. It will be interesting to see how the plans change as they go through their gestation via BBC management and then on the the BBC trust and beyond to what might be a difficult birth.
