All night talks have led to a respite in the ongoing dispute at the BBC. Negotiations began at 2pm yesterday and ended at 9 this morning... With a crunch deadline of today to focus their minds BBC management have come up with an offer that will now be recommended to members in a consultative vote. The ongoing industrial ballot is to be extended from today until the end of March to allow members to decide whether to approve the deal, which covers allowances, redundancy and pensions. A packed meeting of BBC reps gave the unanimous go-ahead for the deal to be put before members. For more see the NUJ's website here
